Many of us packed on a few pounds during the winter holidays and let our fitness programs slide. Just as many of us have made a New Year’s resolution to lose that extra weight and get fit again. Of course, we are bombarded with television commercials, internet advertisements and radio spots on the latest and greatest diet solutions. Recently we were introduced to a sure thing when it comes to losing weight naturally and effectively. It is called the Skin-Deep Diet.

The principles behind the Skin-Deep Diet are very simple. Most of a plant’s nutrients are found in the skin of fruits and vegetables. Most of the calories from fruits and vegetables are found in the actual plant beneath the skin. So, rather than eat all the calories in the plant and throw away the skin, eat the nutrient-dense skins!

Maybe after watching the video clip you realize that we are joking! Please do not try to follow a fad-diet this year. It is estimated that over 95% of diets fail to keep the weight off permanently. Diets are a short-term solution to a long-term issue. If you want to get yourself close to ideal body weight, you need to change your lifestyle habits.   2. Eat fresh fruits

  7. Avoid processed foods of all kinds (anything with an ingredient list)
  8. Only eat enough food till you feel your hunger is satisfied
