The Link Between Fibromylagia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Epstein-Barr Virus

What Is Epstein-Barr Virus?

Epstein-Barr VirusAccording to Anthony William in his book Medical Medium, the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a secret epidemic that affects roughly 225 million Americans. He believes that since the early 1900’s, EBV is responsible for mystery illnesses in every category and that your doctor knows almost nothing about the how the virus operates and the damage that it can cause. EBV is the source of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus, thyroid disease, vertigo, tinnitus and many others.

How Do I Get Epstein-Barr Virus?

You can get EBV as a baby from your mother if she is infected. You can also get it from infected blood transfusions. You can even get it from eating out if someone preparing food is infected and has a cut on their hands. Transmission can also happen through exchange of bodily fluids during intimate contact.

The 4 Stages of Epstein-Barr Virus

According to Mr. William, the Epstein-Barr virus has 4 stages. Each stage is progressively more dangerous. Often the virus will wait for the body to be physically exhausted before taking action. Typical examples of opportunities for the virus to spread are: death of a loved one, relationship break-up, puberty, pregnancy, menopause (all times when the body is working harder and under stress). Once the virus is ready to do battle with your body it will enter stage 2, which is called mononucleosis. This is when the disease is most contagious. Your body will mount a strong immune response to the virus and you can feel sick for weeks while your body does battle with the foreign invaders, but it doesn’t end there. Stage 3 of EBV is where the virus settles into your liver, spleen or other organ system and lies dormant, sometimes for many years. From this point on, any blood tests you have will show antibodies to a past infection, but the virus is still lurking in your body waiting to attack again. Now any major stress to your system that makes you vulnerable can be the time that EBV makes it move. Now your immune system goes into high alert and you can experience many symptoms that will confuse your doctor. The EBV creates byproducts and neurotoxins that can cause allergic reactions in the body that create symptoms that sometimes are diagnosed as lupus. It could be that lupus is just stage 3 EBV. While your immune system is in disarray, EBV starts to attack other organ systems like the thyroid. Now you might experience disorders such as Hashimoto’s, Graves, thyroid cancer and other thyroid issues; all caused by EBV. The ultimate goal of EBV is to attack the central nervous system (stage 4). A common scenario for the onset of stage 4 EBV is to be in a accident, recent surgery or suffering some other physical damage and then feeling awful for much longer than would be expected. This can result in muscle pain, joint pain (rheumatoid arthritis), painful tender points (fibromyalgia), back pain, tingling and numbness in the feet and hands, migraines, ongoing fatigue (chronic fatigue syndrome), dizziness/vertigo/Meniere’s disease, eye floaters, ringing in the ear (tinnitus), insomnia, unrestful sleep and night sweats. Even menopausal symptoms that are mistakenly being treated as hormonal disorders can be the result of stage 4 EBV. If you have developed stage 4 EBV, you are surely frustrated, but there is hope. You can rebuild your immune system and regain control of your life.

Healing From Epstein-Barr Virus

If you carefully and patiently follow the steps that Anthony William has outlined in Medical Medium, you can heal from Epstein-Barr virus. It could take 3 months to a full year to fully heal from stage 4, but you can recover if you stick with it.

  1. Great stuff! Just a little side note. Anthony recommends adenosylcobalamin rather than methylcobalamin form of B12. Pure encapsulations doesn’t sell Adenosylcobalmin, but DFH does. Ultra B 12 – Folate.
